13 weeks

Baby Lambert is my precious peach this week, reaching 3 inches long from crown to rump. The first trimester is officially coming to a close, praise the Lord! Baby Lambert's intestines are tucked inside baby's abdomen. Baby's ears are developed and can hear!! What a sweet miracle? I must tone down my road rage so baby L won't think Mommy is angry all the time!! Baby's vocal cords are also developing, so not only can baby L hear me sing, baby can sing back :)

"Southernisms!"

I found these "southernisms" at http://greenmagsterpie.blogspot.com/ and had to post them! They made smile and truly make me appreciate being from the south :)

Only a Southerner knows the difference between a hissie fit and a conniption fit, and that you don't "HAVE" them, you "PITCH" them.

Only a Southerner knows how many fish, collard greens, turnip greens, peas, beans, etc., make up "a mess."

Only a Southerner can show or point out to you the general direction of "yonder."

Only a Southerner knows exactly how long "directly" is, as in: "Going to town, be back directly."

Even Southern babies know that "Gimme some sugar" is not a request for the white, granular sweet substance that sits in a pretty little bowl in the middle of the table.

All Southerners know exactly when "by and by" is. They might not use the term, but they know the concept well.

Only a Southerner knows instinctively that the best gesture of solace for a neighbor who's got trouble is a plate of hot fried chicken and a big bowl of cold potato salad. If the neighbor's trouble is a real crisis, they also know to add a large banana puddin!

Only Southerners grow up knowing the difference between "right near" and "a right far piece." They also know that "just down the road" can be 1 mile or 20

Only a Southerner both knows and understands the difference between a redneck, a good ol' boy, and po' white trash.

No true Southerner would ever assume that the car with the flashing turn signal is actually going to make a turn.

A Southerner knows that "fixin" can be used as a noun, a verb, or an adverb.

Only Southerners make friends while standing in lines, ... and when we're "in line" ... we talk to everybody!

Put 100 Southerners in a room and half of them will discover they're related, even if only by marriage.

In the South, y'all is singular, all y'all is plural.

Southerners know grits come from corn and how to eat them.

Every Southerner knows tomatoes with eggs, bacon, grits, and coffee are perfectly wonderful; that red eye gravy is also a breakfast food; and that fried green tomatoes are not a breakfast food.

When you hear someone say, "Well, I caught myself lookin'," you know you are in the presence of a genuine Southerner!

Only true Southerners say "sweet tea" and "sweet milk." Sweet tea indicates the need for sugar and lots of it -- we do not like our tea unsweetened. "Sweet milk" means you don't want buttermilk.

And a true Southerner knows you don't scream obscenities at little old ladies who drive 30 MPH on the freeway. You just say,"Bless her heart" ...and go your own way.

To those of you who are still a little embarrassed by your Southerness: Take two tent revivals and a dose of sausage gravy and call me in the morning. Bless your heart!

And to those of you who are still having a hard time understanding all this Southern stuff ... bless your hearts, I hear they are fixin' to have classes on Southernness as a second language!

And for those that are not from the South but have lived here for a long time, all y'all need a sign to hang on y'alls front porch that reads "I ain't from the South, but I got here as fast as I could."Southern girls know men may come and go, but friends are fahevah !Now...... Shugah, send this to someone who was raised in the South or wish they had been! If you're a Northern transplant, bless your little heart, fake it. We know you got here as fast as you could.

12 weeks and doctor update

Baby Lambert is my lovely little lime this week, measuring 2 1/2 inches and weighing half an ounce. Baby's proportions are changing. The rest of the bosy is playing catch up to the head. Arms, leg, and fingers are also growing and tapering out to more like a newborn. Baby's posture is also becoming more upright and less curled.
Only 196 more days to go!

Last friday, I had my first high-risk doctor appt. It was very long, but the news was good news! I was in the sonogram room for a whole hour. Baby Lambert would just not cooperate with the technician. At one point, I layed on both sides, she partically layed me on my head, did jumping jacks, and drank water, all to get Baby Lambert to move in the right position. Finally, an hour later, she got the shot she needed. But luckily for me, I got many sonogram pictures out of the deal :) I got back to my regular ob doc on 9/8 and the high-risk on 9/25. But no luck on knowing the gender, baby Lambert's legs were crossed the entire time. Fingers are crossed for next time though!

2nd Doctor Appt.

I went for my 2nd doctor appt. yesterday and it went very well! Everything is going great, and Baby Lambert is growing strong and healthy! My doctor couldn't find Baby's heartbeat with the doppler on top of my skin, so I had to have another ultrasound to find Baby's heartbeat. We found Baby's heartbeat during the ultrasound and it was 179 bmp :) After we listened to the heartbeat, we just watched Baby Lambert move around! So I asked Ashley, the technician, if we could tell if Baby was a boy or girl!!!! She said, well.......and I said "Ashley, what are in between those legs?" And she said, "WE CAN SAY FOR NOW THAT IT IS A SUSPICIOUS LITTLE.......(beep)!!!!" And she told me what she thought the baby's gender was!! But we will see!!! We had a 50/50 chance of getting it right, now it is more like 70/30 chance! I go to the high risk doctor tomorrow, so maybe we can get their opinion, too :)

So for now, I will leave you with a picture of baby Lambert, and you decide if you think it will be a boy or girl!

11 weeks

This is our 11th week of pregnancy! And I am so excited because I go for my monthly check-up on Wednesday! I also go to the high-risk doctor for the first time (only because of my family history, baby is ok!) on Friday. I acutally went to my ob doctor on Friday because I had a little scare, but praise the Lord, baby Lambert was safely tucked away in my belly, kicking and moving all around! Yes, kicking and moving!! It was so awesome to see something so small move so much!! I just couldn't believe my eyes! Baby Lambert is a little wiggle worm! I still cannot feel any movement, and the doc said I wouldn't until about 18 weeks :( Although, as much as that little person was moving, I am thinking I will feel something sooner :)

Baby Lambert is almost fully formed and is over 1 inch and 1/2 long--as big as a fig! Hands will soon open and close into fists. Tiny tooth buds are beginning to form under gums, and some bones are beginning to harden. Baby is busy kicking and stretching , and movement will become more frequent as the body grows and develops!

Only 203 more days to go!

FYI...one baby is born every 8 seconds. That is 11,000 babies each day! What a miracle!!

10 weeks

Baby Lambert is now the size of a thumb, over an inch long, and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce! What a growing baby I have in my belly! This is now the beginning of the 'fetal period,' a time when the tissues and organs in the body start growing rapidly. Baby Lambert officially has little fingers and toes! No more webbed fingers and toes! And little peach fuzz is beginning to grow on the baby's tender skin.

Only 210 more days to go!

Two years ago today...

Two years ago, I married my best friend! What a special journey it has been since! Who knew that a love could grow so much over a two year span, and I couldn't be happier! It seems we grow closer together everyday. I have said this from the moment we met, but we have so much fun together. We laugh and play, a lot! Adam can always make me laugh! We truly enjoy eachother's company. There is no where else I'd rather be than when we are sitting on the couch, watching a favorite movie, and eating icecream!! He is such an amazing husband, and I couldn't be more blessed. He makes eggs for me for breakfast, takes care of our cars and the yard, has always picked up around the house, he always thinks of our future and how he can make it a better one, and loves me like no one else can! He still continues to open doors for me and when we go to dinner, he pulls out my chair. What a gentleman? Sometimes I take for granted the man he is and all he stands for and believes in. He truly is a man among men. And I cannot wait to see him as a father! He is going to be one awesome father!!

Adam,
Happy 2nd Anniversary! I have enjoyed every second of the past two years and I look forward to a lifetime with you! If the past two years are any indication of what our future will be like, I am one lucky lady! I look forward to all our future holds and I thank you for being the amazing husband and man you are! Thank you for loving me when I least deserve it and for all you do for me! I love you so much! I will look forward to our date night tonight!
All my love,
Your wife
