Ella Jae movin' and a shakin'

Ella Jae was such a little mover and shaker last night! She moved constantly for 2 whole hours! It was so exciting! I felt her move really for the first time 2 weeks ago, and after that it was only here and there. But since last Saturday night, I have felt her move everyday :) What a little miracle! When I went for my doctor appt. last Friday, the technician said that my placenta was right in front of her so when she kicked she was kicking the placenta so that is why the movement wasn't real consistant yet. But that once her bones hardened, I would feel her a lot more! Well, it looks like our baby girl's bones are strong! Adam even could feel her yesterday! He was so excited!! She seems to be sleeping peacefully right now and just really calm because she isn't active....yet....!!! She seems to be busiest in the morning and at night :) She must have a lot to do in my tummy :)

Crib hunting

We have been crib hunting for what seems like forever! I always had an idea of what kind of crib I wanted, but then when I starting actually looking for one I was completely overwhelmed! There are so so so many cribs out there to choose from! So after tirelessly looking in stores and on the web, we decided to go with this from Jcpenney. What do you think? Adam's parents are buying our crib for us! Isn't that sweet? They really want to do this for us as well as make it a tradition for their other grandchildren. It will help us out tremendously!! We can buy the coordinating furniture which was Adam's suggestion!
While looking a crib, I ran across this little girl's room! Isn't it beautiful? I knew I wanted to do Ella Jae's room in pink and brown and when I saw this room I got so excited! I just love it!! And she can grow into it. It is not real "baby-ish." But it is oh so girly! I especially love the wall with the light and dark pink diamonds. We are going to try and duplicate this to the best of our ability! I may have to call in a professional but I think it will be worth it! I found the cutest bedding, too :) Oh my gosh, is it adorable! You can find it here!!
We should be starting on the room soon! Hopefully once we get the crib in, we will start on it. Luckily, there isn't much to clean out the room! It will just really be a matter of painting it! I will be sure to post the progress! Yah for pink and brown! I hope Ella Jae will love her room :)

What a sweet husband!

I just wanted to brag on my husband (aka "my baby daddy") a little bit! Yesterday, he said some really cute things! We were eating breakfast and talking about Ella Jae (most of convos consist of her these days!), and he said "I can't wait for her to be here!" Then I felt her move while we were relaxing on the couch and he tried to feel but he couldn't feel anything. Then he said "will I really be able to feel her kick when she starts kicking more?" He said it in the cutest way but oh so serious :) Then he started talking to my belly and telling her to kick...so sweet! He is going to be such a great daddy! If he is with her just a little of the way he is with me then she will be one lucky little girl! When he holds me or hugs me tight, he'll say "I love my girls!!" Awwww!!!!! He also made my lunch this morning :) Ella Jae and I are two lucky ladies!!

Taking the necessary precautions on the flight to R.I. so Ella Jae and I wouldn't catch any germs hahaha!!

Under the weather :(

I am home from work with a bacterial infection...yuck! I was hoping not to get sick during my pregnancy but so many things are going around right now that it could always be worse I guess. I went to the doctor yesterday and she prescribed me amoxicillin. Unfortunately, the meds were in a capsule form :( I really miss the pink liquid that tasted like bubblegum!! But either way, hopefully it will do the trick. I think by getting sick, it was mother nature's way of telling me to slow down and take it easy for a bit. Since I went to R.I. I have been going none stop. So even though I feel junky, it is nice to be able to stay in my pj's all day and rest!

Speaking of R.I., maybe in my down time I will post the pictures we took while we were there. Maybe not all of them because I took close to 300...shocking, I know!

Hope everyone is having a great week and is not sick with something!

Get up at 5 am on a Saturday morning...WHAT?

Yes, that is exactly the time I have to wake up in the morning...a Saturday morning...it pains me to think of it! I can't remember the last time I had to wake up that early. Granted, it is only an hour and a half earlier than when I typically wake up, but come on, we are talking about sleep here!
The credit union I work for is merging with another credit union, and we have to go to Norcross, GA to train tomorrow, which explains the early departure time of 6:45. I would not have to wake up so early, but I unfortunately live 45 from my workplace.
So yep, while everyone I know is sleeping in a Saturday morning, I will be waking up at 5 am and taking a bus trip to Norcross, GA. AND...I won't get home until 9 pm or so! But hey, we are watching Twilight on the bus ride! There is always upside :)
So tonight I will be retiring to bed early! Early to bed, early rise (hopefully)!

16 weeks

Ella Jae measures 41/2 in. and weighs 3 1/2 oz. She is a little avocado this week :) She will hit a growth spurt these next few weeks. Her eyes have moved closer to the front of her head, and her ears are almost in the position where they will stay too. The pattern of her scapl has begun although hair isn't recognizable yet. She is growing toenails and her little heart is pumping 25 qts of blood a day....wow....how amazing?
I am blown away each week as I read the new changes in our sweet little baby. According the the scale at the doc last week, I have only gained 3 lbs, but I do believe that I gained several more during my stay in R.I. I feel like my belly grew while I was there, too!! I still haven't felt her move. I was told and read that it could be anywhere from 16-20 wks. So am anxiously awaiting that first little "flutter, bubble, or popcorn popping" feeling!! Adam is anxious for it, too! He makes fun of me because I wear fitted clothing so people will know I am pregnant! Right now I am kind of at that in between stage where I either look a few mths preggers or like I need to lose a few pounds. I want to make it as easy as possible for others to "know" I am preggers!!!

A name for baby Lambert

Many girls have names picked out for their children long before they marry or expect their first child, and I am no different. The name I had chosen for a girl was after my great-grandfather. His name was Elbert Jacob aka E.J." He and I were very close and he passed away my freshman year in college. And typically in the south, it is tradition to give your child a family name. You may be panicing at this point, so don't worry we are not naming our daughter Elbert Jacob but something similar. Her name will be...
Ella Jae Lambert
We will call her Ella Jae, although Ella will be her first name and Jae her middle name. Fortunately, Adam did not fight me on this, although if he had I am not sure he would have won :) And thankfully, our sweet baby will be a girl because we could not narrow down a boy name. We are thrilled about our little Ella Jae and her arrival. It cannot come soon enough!

WE ARE HAVING A......

SWEET BABY GIRL!

15 weeks

Baby L measures 4 in long from crown to rump and weigh 2 1/2 oz. She is busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respirtory tract. Her legs are growing longer than her arms, and she can move all her joints and limbs. Her eyes are still shut but she can sense light. She is also forming tastebuds although there really isn't much for her to taste yet.

FYI...on average in the US, 1,048 boys are born for every 1,000 girls.

I have exciting baby news and will post later in the week :) Yah for baby news!
Keep us in your prayers for safe travels!

14 weeks

Baby L is my sweet little lemon this week weighing in at 1 1/2 oz and measuring 3 1/2 in. (I looked on ruler to get an idea and that is pretty long!) Baby is stretching out. Baby can squint, frown, grimace, tinkle (the urine is released into the amniotic fluid), and suck its thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, facial muscles are getting a workout as baby's tiny features form one expression after another. Baby can grasp, too :) The head sits more distinct on the neck. By the end of the week, the arms will have grown to a length that is more proportion to the rest of the bosy. Baby also develops an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair called lanugo, all over the bosy. The liver will also start to make bile and the spleen helps make red blood cells. Baby L's hands and feet now measure 1/2 in long!!! They are more flexible and active :) Week 14 is a busy week for Baby Lambert :)

I officially cannot button any of my pants any longer, but I have invested in a bella-band. It is awesome! It allows me to still wear my regular pants unbuttoned! I could hug the inventor! I still have only gained 2-3 lbs. It varies day to day and scale to scale. My next appointment with the OB is 9/8! We have scheduled an appointment with Prenatal Imaging, a 3D-4D sonogram facility, who will also tell us the gender......YAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fall weather already?

Today seemed like a fall day! I got really excited when I stepped outside to head to work, but I know it is not here to stay. I came for a short while just to give us a tease. But I did get a glimpse of the fall weather and hopefully it is near! I love the fall and everything that goes with it. It even is beginning to look more fall-like outside. You can no longer see the sweltering heat rise off the roads and that is good sign that fall is around the corner!

I also had a sweet encounter with one of our older members at work today. I worked on the teller line today(an every other wednesday thing for me), and I waited on Mr. Bradshaw. He was telling me how he was going on a little road trip, and he could do that sort of thing because he was retired. And I said "don't brag Mr. Bradshaw, I am long way from retirement!" He said that sometimes he does get bored and when he gets bored, he just goes down to the courthouse and sits in on trials. When he told me that, I just had to laugh. I thought it was the cutest thing! Oh, the life of a retiree! Adam and I talk about our days as retirees :0) Hopefully we can retire while we are still really young and live on the coast somewhere :) Oh what a life to look forward to :)
