Wall art

Here are a few pictures of the wall art in E's room! I love it! More pictures of her room are coming soon! So sweet :)

Weekend Recap

Nope. No baby yet. But we did have a pretty good weekend! Hopefully, it will be our last weekend with just me and Adam! Friday night, Adam and I had a pretty quite night. I left work at little early because my feet were pretty swollen. Then when Adam got home we went to eat at Salsa's (my fav) and just came home. Saturday, Adam had to work and I ran a few errands. I went to wal-mart and got a pedicure :) Ahh...it was much needed and felt so great! Then when Adam got home, my Mama and Adrianna came to pick us up and we went to lunch at What's Cookin'! We even got to eat outside because it was such a beautiful day :) When we got home Adrianna cleaned my house (what a sweet cousin), me and Mama dabbled in a few crafts for E's room, and Adam washed all the cars :) Later that night, we went to eat at Maliah's for Tiff's birthday. We had a nice time eating and visiting with friends and talking lots of baby talk :) Sunday, we went to church and it was the baby dedication. I teared up during the children's worship and was so excited to see all the little babies and it made me want my baby here with me that much more!! After church, we went to a cook out at Mom and Dad's and it was the perfect day for a cook out! It was such a beautiful warm day. It felt like spring! I can only hope E will come on a day like yesterday! We enjoyed good food and each other's company so much. We even watched a few home videos which were super funny! Adam even painted E's little chair :)

Mem, Erica, me and Pep waiting to eat :)

I go to the doctor tomorrow for my weekly check-up! I am excited to know if I have made any progress and I pray I have! Hopefully, my doctor will say "Ok, we need to admit you to the hospital!!" Haha!

38 weeks and still waiting

Ella Jae has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, and I am very much looking forward to holding her sweet little hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old.

I am hanging in there and cannot wait to meet my sweet baby girl! I feel really good, a lot better than I had expected. I guess I just expected the worse because I have heard so many pregnancy stories about the last 2 weeks of pregnancy. I just have a lot of pressure and it is worse when I have been sitting or lying down and then stand up and try to walk. I've been sleeping pretty good, too, praise the Lord! I wake up a few times to potty and sometimes when I roll over because the pressure can be intense, but I am thankful to say that I haven't had one sleepless night!

Last night, we hung Ella Jae's wall art! It is so stinkin' cute and I cannot wait to post pictures of her completed nursery! I just have to complete her pelmet boxes to hang over the windows, I opted for that instead of curtains. It was a last minute decision but I think it will very girly and cute and really add to the room. I also have to paint a little antique chair that was my great-granddaddy's (who EJ is named after) when he was a little boy. It is very special and I am so happy that my grandmother let me have it! Adam sanded it and primed it and now I just have to paint it pink and brown :)

I have been struggling with what outfit she will come home in. I have bought 2 and gotten 2 as showers gifts that I might like her to wear. I bought another one today. I wanted something pink ofcourse and with a little matching hat and booties. Maybe I will just take them all and decide when it is time to take her home :) Oh, how I cannot wait to bring her home!!

Today's appointment!

I went for my weekly check up today and I left very excited! I am 1-2 cm dilated and 50% effaced! My doctor said Ella Jae could make her debut within the next 10 days and she doubts that I will make it to my due date on March 5th! I am so excited and very anxious to meet our sweet girl! I just know there is going to be nothing like it in this world! Ella Jae's precious clothes are washed and put away. All of our bags are packed! I am just waiting on the arrival of her wall art and Ella Jae's room will be complete! I wanted to freeze a few meals to make it easier on myself and Adam once E gets here, and hopefully I will get around to that :) Hopefully I will have to weekend to get the house in order, if not it won't be the end of the world. Looking forward to the next 10 days and meeting our sweet girl!

It's My Day!

For each employee at work who either gets married or is pregnant, my work hosts an "It's My Day" for the person. Last week was my "It's My Day!" It was such a fun day and everyone was so sweet and generous! Everyone at work is genuinely excited for baby Ella Jae! I have had so many good chats with the girls at work about pregnancy and babies and what to expect. They all have been so sweet! They always compliment me and ask how I am feeling. I couldn't ask to work with a better group of people! Here are a few pictures from my "It's My Day"...

My desk and work area was filled with ballooons and streamers and everything "baby!"

Wednesday already? And...37 weeks!

I cannot believe that it is Wednesday already! I am so excited for today because I go to my weekly appointment! I can't wait to hear what Dr. Serrano has to tell me. I hope it is something very exciting! This week I am 37 weeks pregnant! Wow...only 3 more weeks OR less to go :) Ella Jae is now considered full term. If I went into labor now, her lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. She weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. And I am sure Ella Jae has a head full of dark hair, I just know it! Between Adam and I, we both have thick dark hair so I am sure she will too! Hopefully, it is enough to put a bow in :) She already has quite the stock of bows :) I just wish I had a little window on my belly and I could peek in and see how sweet she looks! I am so anxious to see her and the anticipation just grows and grows with each day. For a few weeks now, when she moves we can feel that it is little body parts, guessing it is a foot or knee. It is the neatest thing! It is so hard to believe that a little 6 lb baby that is 19-20 in long is tucked away inside my belly. She is still very active especially when I eat and at night. One night, she even woke Adam up because she was kicking so hard haha!

Tonight I am going to dinner with my girlfriends for Amanda's birthday! I'm excited! We always have the best time together and just don't get together often enough. I love those girls!! Looking forward to a fun and productive Wednesday!

Weekend Recap

We have had some pretty boring weekends lately besides our "Babymoon" and visit to HHI. But this past weekend was pretty eventful. Friday night Adam worked pretty late and met me at my Grandma's for supper and we visited with family that was in town from VA Beach. We really enjoyed visiting with them, and they were so generous in giving us 10 or so outfits of Ella Jae, a crocheted blanket, booties and 2 hats!! I am so sentimental so anything handmade really means a lot to me! They were so beautiful and I cannot wait for Ella Jae to wear them! On Saturday, Adam and I went to my great-aunt's funeral and had lunch with the family afterwards. Then I went to one of my really good friend's jewelry party which was so much fun! After being in a sorority and surrounded by girls 24/7, I really miss my girlfriends and enjoy having "girl-time" oh so much!! While I was at the party, I checked my phone and had 9 missed calls, all from Adam. So I freaked out and called him in a panic, but it was no big deal, thank goodness. He made an appointment to have my new cd player installed in my car so he needed my car. We ended up dropping me off at the mall and then meeting me. We had so much fun just sitting at Books-A-Million, me with my fashion and baby magazines and him with his motorcycle and mofia books...yes, I really think Adam was in the mofia in a past life haha! He loves watching any show or reading books about it haha! Then we went home and rested, then we finally got the energy to go get some supper at Mi Rancho :) and actually went to the movies at 8:30 to see Avatar in 3D! It was really fun and a great movie! Sunday was church and lunch at Grandma's. Then I bakes some peanut butter cookies and made a chili cheese dip to take to Mom and Dad's for the Super Bowl. We really enjoyed being with our family and watching the Super Bowl last night. Not really a fan, but glad the Saints won their first Super Bowl...although I was a little disappointed I didn't see Kim Kardashian or Kendra anywhere haha! I finally packed my bag for the hospital last night and Ella Jae's diaper bag...it felt so great and now I feel very prepared! I cannot believe how soon she will be here!!! I am so excited and very anxious!
Antonietta and I--She crocheted all the sweet baby items for Ella Jae!
All the sweet sweet clothes!
The beautiful crocheted baby blanket, hats and booties!
Haha! Had to throw this in there! This is what my poor feet and ankles looked like on Friday night. And Adam was so sweet and rubbed them for me :)
Adam and I before our little last minute dat night :) Not many more of those nights to come...

36 weeks

Ella Jae is gaining about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy hair that covered her body, as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Next week, she will be considered full-term! I go to the doctor on Wednesday for my last ultrasound! I am so excited because not only will I get to see her sweet face, but we'll know more about when she is expected to arrive and all the good details!

I feel huge although many people tell me I'm not THAT big...haha! OMG...last night, Adam and I were at Kroger and I was standing in front of the ice cream trying to make a decision, and these two ladies walk past me and one tells the other, "how cute, a pregnant girl at the icecream!" And they laughed! I didn't know whether to laugh or be insulted, so I just laughed. It was pretty funny! And was very cliche', although there were no pickles in my buggy! Ha! Besides all the comments, I'm hanging in there. Very very anxious to meet this little girl inside of me that keeps me awake at night, gives me heartburn, keeps her little foot tucked under my right rib cage (p.s. that is new), and makes me smile constantly! Last night, Adam put together her stroller and car seat :) So exciting!! I got the Chicco Key Fit 30 Travel System in Discovery. I wanted the "Adventure" pattern but they did not have it at Babys R Us and I had a coupon for there. We ended up getting it for $259.00 compared to $329.99!!! I was so excited! It is the safest carseast in America!! It isn't very girly :( But I tried to get all the big items very gender neutral. Can't wait to bring her home in this....
