3 years ago today...
Adam proposed! And it was the sweetest proposal ever! I will remember that day the rest of my life! I was taking a Maymester class and had met Adam for lunch earlier that day. He said he had a surprise for me but would bring it when he came over for dinner that night. I made chicken parmesan for him, and we had a nice dinner together. After eating I remembered my suprise (ofcourse I did, I LOVE surprises)! I said "can I have my surprise now?" He said it was in his truck so we would have to go outside to get it. As we walked outside, I said completely jokingly, "are you going to ask me to marry you?" When we got outside he sat me on a bench and told me to close my eyes. He placed a big green scrapbook in my lap. We was knelt down beside me as I flipped through the pages, it was story of our relationship. I did not expect a proposal at all and had no idea what was on that last page, and almost didn't even flip to it because it was on the backside, but when I did, it sai "Will you marry me?" in really big crayon colored letters! When I turned to him, he had the box sitting on his knee, and said "will you be my wife?" I ofcourse said yes!!! Awww...I love my husband!

Busy Busy
I will be so glad when Sunday gets here! I have only had two days off in the past two weeks, and I am exhausted! Spring and Fall are the busiest times at work, especially for the marketing department, so needless to say I have been putting in a few extra hours. I plan to take a few long weekends in May to catch up, but ya really need more than just one day to relax in a week! Ya can't fully unwind knowing that you have to get up and do the same thing again for the next 6 days. This week, I get my Wednesday off and I am going for a massage, pedicure, haircut, and I have a lunch date with my dear friend Kim! I really looking forward to Wednesday! Adam got me a gift certificate to Power Cut Salon and Day Spa for Valentine's Day and I am finally using it! I was waiting for the perfect time to use it, and now is definitely the perfect time! So excited...to me there is nothing better than sleeping in a little but not too much where you miss the coolness of the morning time, going downtown for breakfast and reading a magazine or the paper, then doing a little shopping, and catching up with a friend over lunch...and that's the day I plan to have on Wednesday...ahhhh....
Adam is adjusting to his new schedule quite well. We actually prefer it because we have our afternoons together, and we look forward to every other week when he basically gets six days off in a row! This week he is on all nights, and next week he'll have his days off which will be nice!
Last night Adam and I had his parents, mem and pep, and mutante Rita and uncle Bud over for supper. It was so nice! We grilled out and ate out on the deck, and just really enjoyed each other's company. We will be sad when mutante Rita and uncle Bud go back to RI. We have really loved having them!
Off to bed for yet another day of work...

Easter
I just love holidays, and Easter is one of my favorites! It makes me happy just thinking about it! I enjoy making Easter baskets, dying eggs, going to church, eating Sunday dinner, and being with my family. Growing up, I always looked forward to Easter: my grandmother would take my cousin and I to J.B. Whites to pick out an Easter dress, my cousins and I would die eggs and hunt for them and beg our moms to hide them again and again, we would go to sunrise service at the church I grew up at and then have breakfast at church, and we'd eat together as a family at my grandmother's, and we'd stand together infront of the azaleas and take pictures! Adam's Memere Lambert would send him a box of peanuts and hide eggs in it for him to find since she lived out of town (I think that is so cute!) , and now she sends he and I a chocolate bunny all the way from R.I. Although she is R.I., she always thinks of us during holidays. As I've gotten older, our traditions have changed a little bit but the reason for the season is still the same, that God sent His son to die for our sins, was resurrected from the dead and ascended into Heaven; "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16. What an amazing gift He gave to us. You can find the Easter Story in the book of Mark. I look forward to the day when Adam and I have children and we can read the Easter to the them and sharing traditions that they will remember and look forward to each year. Unfortunately, Adam has to work from 10 pm-8 am Saturday night so he probably won't make it to church on Sunday morning, but atleast he will be able to spend the day with our famililies. I am looking forward to it!
Happy Easter!
Happy Easter!

Adam's new schedule
So starting tonight, Adam begins his new work schedule...10:00 pm - 8:00 am. He does get four days off in a row, we will have our afternoons together, and I get to cook for him each night :) But it stinks having to those crazy hours! I feel for him. I can't imagine having to stay awake all night. And he is not one to really sleep during the day or take naps, but hopefully he can find a routine. The schedule is only for six weeks so hopefully at the end of the six weeks, his work schedule will be somewhat normal again! But there is a bright side, we will get to see more of one another, which will be fantastic because I wouldn't see him at all somedays with the way his schedule was before. And I finally get to plan out my meals and cook for him each night, which I am super excited about!!! Adam is such a strong and ambitiuos person that I know he will do just fine, but just say a little prayer for him...
Our HHI Trip
We have been back to reality for a week and I miss HHI! I enjoyed it so much, I asked Adam could we move there! We seriously considered it for like .25 seconds, but it was a nice thought! We really enjoyed our time at HHI and together! It felt so nice to sleep in and to just tackle the day minute by minute, no agenda. We really needed the R&R, especially Adam! I finally went to Paula Deen's!! It was so great! I even got to meet her son, Bobby Deen, and I took a picture with him and he signed my cookbook! Adam was such a trooper when we went to Savannah; he truly is the best!! We walked around for hours waiting on our reservation time and he just endured it, he never once complained. As far as the rest of time, we rode bikes and tired new resturants on the island, went to the movies, has Starbucks each day, and went to Barnes and Noble each night! It was awesome! It was windy a few days but the weather was beautiful each day, praise the Lord! Mom and Dad were able to come visit us on Friday and stayed until Saturday. It was great having them. We had a lot of fun together! We rode biked together, which I don't know if it was such a great idea because me and mom had TWO bike wrecks...quite hilarious though! One lady even stopped to make sure we were ok, and once she realized we were ok said "I wish I had a video camera!!"...and we were like "uh, thanks lady..."...it was so funny! Now we can only look forward to our next vaca...Myrtle Beach in June! Ya just feel better about everything knowing that you have another vaca to look forward to! It makes going to work a little more easy!

American Idol
So from the very beginnging, American Idol has been my favorite! I get so excited when it premieres, I even write it in my planner so I don't forget (right along with the Bachelor)! Our whole family watches it and gets really pumped. We'll call one another when we like or dislike a song or when one of our favorites gets sent home. You'd think that as much as I enjoy the show and singing that I would actually be able to sing well, but unfortunately, that's not the case!! I like to pretend though, so I just sing right along, out of tune and all!! Dad and I have this thing now where we say that I ruined my vocal cords and that I could sing well if it wasn't for that...haha!! Anyways, so I have a couple favorites this season! I really like Danny and Kris and Allison! And I LOVED Megan, but she got sent home :( But I am hoping she comes back with a wild card! I really think she would have gotten through had they not created this weird group system where only 3 people get in from each group. The group this past week was really really good!
In 3 more weeks...
In 3 more weeks weeks, Adam and I will be taking a vacation to Hilton Head Island. We are so excited and cannot wait! Bless his heart, Adam needs a vacation! We have many exciting activities planned, more like I have the activities planned. I am such a planner and Adam is very "go with the flow!" We thought about going some place we had never been like Washington D.C., Adam even mentioned Colorado, but we just decided to go some place we love and know really well. We can really relax at HH and not get stressed about directions or what to visit. We have made many memories in HH, and I look forward to making many more there together. I have been going there with his family since we started dated. I had really never vacationed there. I had been there a few times, but my family and I always spent time at Beaufort because my grandmother had a place there, which isn't very far away, but we never really went there much. But I love it! It is not very commercial and there are not any high rises, but there are still things to do and much fun to be had. I especially love the outlets right before you get on the island! We have traditions there now, too, and I can't wait to share them with our children someday. We always eat at this little italian place called Guiseppe's (usually more than once if we are with Dad), we have to eat frozen custard (with colored sprinkles...yumm) and shop at Coligny, eat at The Wreck and listen to the guy sing and play the guitar at Sea Pines. We have always wanted to take our bikes and ride along the island, so hopefully we will do that when we go in a few weeks! I also want to go crabbing (something I always did spending summers in beaufort), visit Daufuskie Island, rent a sail boat, and spend a day in Savannah! I have wanted to go to Savannah and eat at Paula Deen's restuarant for about 2 years now, and I am so excited about it!! Adam's Aunt Florence and Uncle Eddie recently went, and they brought be back a menu! Wasn't that sweet? They are so cute! I can't wait for visit to HH! I know we are going to have a great relaxing fun time!

Our Valentine's
Adam and I had a real sweet Valentine's this year! Friday night we went out to dinner with mom and dad because every where is so crowded on Valentine's. We went to Rhinehart's, a seafood resturant, and we had a really fun time. We were there forever it seemed but we all enjoyed one another's company. I also totally and completely fell in love with a little boy named Beckham. He had blond hair and blue eyes, just the cutest little thing ever! We played pick-a-boo and I wanted to just take him home with me...hee hee! On Saturday, I had to work but Adam had the day off, so when I got up I found a card, a dozen pink roses, and my favorite candy (dove dark chocolate with almonds) on the breakfast bar! I was so excited, and I have to admit that I have the sweetest most thoughtful VALENTINE!! So I also layed his gifts on the breakfast bar so when he woke up, he would find his gifts, too! I got him a Wii!! He called me at work when he found it and was so happy! He played all morning...haha! When I got home from work, I had yet another gift from my sweet Valentine, a 75 minute massage at a Spa...ahhh...I can't wait for that! That night Adam's cousin, Erica, and I cooked for her boyfriend, Phillip, and Adam. We had such a fun time together! The girls cooked while the guys played the Wii, and we wouldn't have wanted it any other way. The boys did offer their services which was sweet but Erica and I enjoyed our girl time! We had a nice romanic dinner together and all played the Wii afterwards. I will have to post pictures later!

Just thinking...
As I was driving home today (a 45 minute drive might I add), I was thinking about all the uncertainty in the world right now. It's kind of depressing. It seems that everytime you turn on the t.v. or pick up a newspaper another corporation in cutting jobs, the stock market has gone down once again or some big shot of a company has taken money from its investors. I feel so sad for those people and their famililies. Its times like now that help you to look at the big picture and realize what's really important. Sometimes, I feel like I am going to lose it in the car riding to work through all the construction along the interstate, and sometimes I even think "ahh, if only I worked closer I could sleep in a little longer," but I feel so fortunate to have a job in the state our economy is in and to have one I like is icing on the cake! When I was younger, I never thought of the possibility of not having a job or being able to find a job. I just assumed that I would get one, but now I realize jobs aren't so easy to come by these days. Sometimes, it takes different situations in life (ones that may even seem like the pits) to realize ALL of life's little blessings in disguise, jobs included!

A very special couple in my life, Kim and Sam, have a new bundle of joy! He is so beautiful and absolutely perfect! They cannot have children and have been looking to adopt a baby for quite some time. God finally blessed them with a beautiful baby boy, Davis Brennan. Kim and Sam are going to be wonderful parents! Kim and Sam are like second parents to me (We tell people I am their surrogate daughter). Kim and my mom were very good friends, and when my mom passed away, Kim stepped in and filled the mother role. She and Sam both have been there for me throughout the past 11 years! They have there for me through so much: pageants, proms, ring ceremony, birthdays, graduations, my wedding, and much more. We have shared many laughs and tears. Davis is so blessed to have such loving parents. And I am equally blessed to have them be a part of my life! I love you and am so happy for you guys! YAH...I am big sister!
