11 weeks

This is our 11th week of pregnancy! And I am so excited because I go for my monthly check-up on Wednesday! I also go to the high-risk doctor for the first time (only because of my family history, baby is ok!) on Friday. I acutally went to my ob doctor on Friday because I had a little scare, but praise the Lord, baby Lambert was safely tucked away in my belly, kicking and moving all around! Yes, kicking and moving!! It was so awesome to see something so small move so much!! I just couldn't believe my eyes! Baby Lambert is a little wiggle worm! I still cannot feel any movement, and the doc said I wouldn't until about 18 weeks :( Although, as much as that little person was moving, I am thinking I will feel something sooner :)

Baby Lambert is almost fully formed and is over 1 inch and 1/2 long--as big as a fig! Hands will soon open and close into fists. Tiny tooth buds are beginning to form under gums, and some bones are beginning to harden. Baby is busy kicking and stretching , and movement will become more frequent as the body grows and develops!

Only 203 more days to go!

FYI...one baby is born every 8 seconds. That is 11,000 babies each day! What a miracle!!

10 weeks

Baby Lambert is now the size of a thumb, over an inch long, and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce! What a growing baby I have in my belly! This is now the beginning of the 'fetal period,' a time when the tissues and organs in the body start growing rapidly. Baby Lambert officially has little fingers and toes! No more webbed fingers and toes! And little peach fuzz is beginning to grow on the baby's tender skin.

Only 210 more days to go!

Two years ago today...

Two years ago, I married my best friend! What a special journey it has been since! Who knew that a love could grow so much over a two year span, and I couldn't be happier! It seems we grow closer together everyday. I have said this from the moment we met, but we have so much fun together. We laugh and play, a lot! Adam can always make me laugh! We truly enjoy eachother's company. There is no where else I'd rather be than when we are sitting on the couch, watching a favorite movie, and eating icecream!! He is such an amazing husband, and I couldn't be more blessed. He makes eggs for me for breakfast, takes care of our cars and the yard, has always picked up around the house, he always thinks of our future and how he can make it a better one, and loves me like no one else can! He still continues to open doors for me and when we go to dinner, he pulls out my chair. What a gentleman? Sometimes I take for granted the man he is and all he stands for and believes in. He truly is a man among men. And I cannot wait to see him as a father! He is going to be one awesome father!!

Adam,
Happy 2nd Anniversary! I have enjoyed every second of the past two years and I look forward to a lifetime with you! If the past two years are any indication of what our future will be like, I am one lucky lady! I look forward to all our future holds and I thank you for being the amazing husband and man you are! Thank you for loving me when I least deserve it and for all you do for me! I love you so much! I will look forward to our date night tonight!
All my love,
Your wife

9 weeks

Baby Lambert is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape— and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. He/she is starting to look more and more human. His/her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks.....so exciting!!!!

I've been feeling pretty good overall, excpet I'm tired pretty much all the time. Adam makes fun of my frequent naps (hehe). My nausea comes and goes. Hopefully it will stay gone!! I have been craving pasta, mexican (nothing new there), and fruit. I am hungry more often and get full faster. I DO NOT want a hamburger! I smelled them cooking as I rode down the road, and almost...you know...

Only 217 more days to go!!!

Our next appointment is August 12!

8 weeks

Baby Lambert is now 5/8 of an inch long, about the size of a kidney bean. New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from baby's hands and feet, his/her eyelids practically cover his/her eyes, breathing tubes extend from his/her throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and the "tail" is just about gone. Arms have lengthened, too, and hands are now flexed at the wrist and meet over the heart. His/her knee joints have formed, and feet may be long enough to meet in front of the body. In the brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways.

Only 224 more days to go!

We are having a baby!

What an exciting past month this has been! I learned I was pregnant on June 25. I woke up that morning from a dream that I was pregnant. I took a pregnancy test and saw one line and what appeared to be a faint positive sign. I stood there in disbelief while Adam was still sleeping, and I called me cousin to see if this could really be happening. She said that she was sure because there are rarely false positives but I needed to get the digital test. I the woke Adam up. Holding the test I said, Ad, I think I'm pregnant. I showed him the test and we laughed and smiled uncontrollably. I told him I wasn't for certain but I would let him know once I took the digital tests. On my way to work, I picked up the digital tests. I stood in the bathroom stall at work, took the test, and waited for 3 minutes, 3 minutes that seemed like forever....And then...clear as day...it said...PREGNANT. I was in shock! I called Adam and told him I was going to my doctor's office to have a blood and urine test because I had to know for sure...like 2 positive pregnancy tests weren't enough! And the tests at the doctor's office were all POSITIVE! I called Adam again, and told him the good news! He was so excited and wanted me to come home from work! What a blessing? That night we told our family and friends. Then we anxiously awaited our first doctor visit on July 13. At our first visit they did a sonogram, and we got to see our sweet precious baby who was .66 cm long. We also got to hear the heartbeat which was 113 bpm. Adam held my hand tightly throughout the whole sonogram, and when we heard the heartbeat, we just stared at eachother and couldn't believe our ears! The doctor visit made everything seem so real. Before the visit, I kept thinking is the really real? I don't feel different, I don't look different, but sure enough, I'm pregnant! I am currently 8 weeks pregnant, and the baby is due March 5 , 2010. What a sweet miracle from above? We feel so blessed that God chose us to be the parents of the precious baby growing in my belly! We are so excited about the journey we are beginning!

Happy 4th of July!

We are celebrating the 4th of July and my birthday the upcoming week at Fripp Island with my family! We will celebrate with hotdogs, watermelon, and sparklers...and hopefully birthday cake will be on the menu, too :) Adam is coming up Sunday-Wednesday!! Fripp Island is my favorite-it is a very small private island and everything is very central and easy to get to! They have an awesome fireworks display, too! It is in Beaufort, SC which is where I spent summers growing up with my mom's family. So it has a special place in my heart. I look forward to vacationing there with our children someday!

HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY 4TH!
